Update #16 - Monday, November 12, 2018

1. OVERVIEW, FEEDBACK, GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • FRIDAY/PLAYOFFS … weather unfortunately was not on our side on Friday. Those of you who saw the weather from 4-7 PM on Friday were probably very happy we were not outside. Cape’s band even left the game with 8 minutes left in the 1st quarter. Despite the fact the team won the game 42-13, they were not selected for the DIAA playoffs.

  • THANK YOU to those who performed at Friday morning’s assembly – it was an excellent performance all-around, and I have gotten a lot of positive feedback from teachers, administration, and even students as I was passing through the building.

  • RETURN DAY RESULTS have still not been released yet. They typically take about a week based on my previous two experiences with the Return Day parade.

  • I will be accepting last-minute ALL-STATE BAND APPLICATIONS on Tuesday morning… there is still time to consider auditioning... you have two months to prepare, and we will take the necessary time to help you go in feeling confident. The application is attached.

  • POLO SHIRTS & JACKET ORDERS are in and sorted. Please see me or G. Batten to pick up your order from Room 694.

  • PEACH BOWL participants – our first official Peach Bowl rehearsal and general meeting will occur next Tuesday, 11/20. Originally, a date/time was held for this Wednesday, but we must use that time to finish coordinating final details and prepare materials. The rehearsal part of 11/20 will mainly be to start feeling out the sound and balance of the group on our show music and potential parade music. New drill & show adjustments will begin after Thanksgiving break. We will be determining the final payment amount after fundraising and adjusting everyone’s ledgers for the final balance due by tomorrow evening’s booster meeting. Payment in full MUST be received by 11/15 (as indicated on the trip agreement form).
